MICHAEL ESTEVEBOWIE CITY COUNCIL - DISTRICT 1
A Balanced Budget: My first priority is to maintain the city's core services while keeping tax rates flat and budgets balanced.
Preserved Green Space: Bowie's forests and green spaces are essential to our quality of life and need protecting.
Public Safety: I expect the highest standards in emergency services while maintaining transparency and accountability.
Responsive Constituent Services: I work to put residents first. Never hesitate to reach out if I can ever be of assistance!
I was raised by an Army officer and Prince George's County Public School teacher who instilled in me a passion for public service.
For over 15 years, I have been active as a volunteer organizer for the USO, Wounded Warrior Project, and the Maryland Special Olympics. I have worked with city committees and volunteer groups addressing senior housing and public outreach. In 2015, I was assigned to the city's Financial Advisory and Information Technology committees.
In my four years on the city council, I attended every council and stakeholders meeting and held over twenty community meetings and town halls. I consistently stood up to developers and advocated for the protection of local green space.
Mostly, I'm proud to have consistently voted to balance our city budget with a focus on core services and without a tax rate increase.
